Description:
Performs cartage of semitrailers in plant and on premises. Will also will drive and stage trailers at off-site storage locations near the manufacturing facility.
Requirements:
Knowledge / Experience / Skills

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid CDL class A license and DOT medical certification card.

Ability to safely operate and drive commercial class 8 trucks.

A favorable background screening, DMV driving record, and physical and drug screening results.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
-
Hook up and move semi-trailers from the assembly line, move them for water testing, and stage them in the parking lot.

Return trailers to modification shop when needed for further assembly or quality repairs.

Drive semi-truck to move and stage trailers at offsite lots nearby for storage.

Adherence to all DOT standards and relevant safety procedures.

Follow company policies and process standards.

Perform all other activities as needed.
Physical Requirements
-
Requires physical abilities required to connect and disconnect lines to the trailer, repeatedly climb into and out of a tractor, and maneuver, drive, and park the tractor with trailer efficiently and safely.

Must be able to hand crank the landing gear and open and shut trailer doors.
