Job Summary
Join our vibrant team as a Kitchen/Cafeteria Support staff member, working 4 hours per day across 182 days. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and plating to ensure timely service during meal periods
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and cafeteria areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, dishwashers, and food storage units
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to uphold sanitation standards and prevent contamination
- Handle manual tasks such as weight handling and organizing supplies for smooth operations
- Support in processing cash transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems during cafeteria service
- Provide friendly, in-person customer service to guests, answering questions and ensuring a positive experience
Requirements
- Previous experience in food industry settings such as catering, restaurant, or banquet environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures is essential
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and perform manual handling tasks comfortably
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Experience with POS systems and processing transactions efficiently
- Culinary or hospitality experience is advantageous, including food preparation or serving roles
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
