IMMEDIATE OPENING: Assistant Piano Teacher (Part-Time)
Kristy Music Studios is seeking a friendly, dependable Assistant Piano Teacher to join our team immediately. This position is ideal for a college student, advanced high school pianist, music major, or anyone who enjoys working with children and helping beginning musicians grow.
Position Details:
- Location: East Brainerd, Chattanooga
- Schedule: M & F afternoons 3:30-7pm, (hours vary slightly week to week).
- Job Type: Part-time / Internship
Responsibilities:
- Teach beginning to intermediate piano students using provided lesson plans and studio curriculum.
- Create a positive, engaging, and encouraging lesson environment.
- Reinforce music theory, rhythm, technique, and performance skills.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students progress.
- Assist with iPad-based lesson resources and activities.
- Follow studio procedures and teaching guidance provided by Kristy.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate to advanced piano proficiency (secondary instrument level)
- Strong understanding of basic music theory and rhythm.
- Ability to identify and correct incorrect notes, rhythms, and written theory work in beginner and intermediate students.
- Comfortable using an iPad, apps, email, and basic communication tools.
- Patient, dependable, and able to connect well with children and families.
- Prior teaching experience is helpful, but not required.
- Advanced high school students with relevant piano experience are encouraged to apply.
