Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager for Security Services to lead and coordinate comprehensive security initiatives across our organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee security operations, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and manage teams responsible for safeguarding personnel, assets, and information. Your leadership will drive the development and implementation of security protocols, conduct risk assessments, and foster a culture of safety and vigilance. Duties
- Manage the overall security force and day-to-day contract operations
- Supervise and manage a large security organization
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and WMATA
- Work directly with the WMATA Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR)
- Ensure security posts remain fully staffed and operational
- Coordinate employee schedules, staffing changes, and replacements
- Ensure management coverage is maintained 7 days a week
- Respond to staffing and operational issues
- Monitor employee performance and compliance
- Oversee quality-control inspections and corrective actions
- Participate in regular meetings with WMATA
- Review and address invoices, billing matters, deductions, and contract performance
- Oversee required reports, schedules, personnel records, and contract documentation
- Coordinate coverage for special events and other operational requirements
- Ensure security personnel meet required training and certification standards
- Maintain communication with WMATA on a 24/7/365 basis
- Support continuous improvement of security operations and customer service
Experience
- 6+ years of specialized security experience
- 5+ years of progressive supervisory experience managing a large security force
- Required experience must have been obtained within the last 7 years
- Demonstrated experience supervising and managing security personnel
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage security operations and contract performance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly accountable environment
- Proven experience in security management or law enforcement roles with a strong understanding of criminal law principles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for report writing and data reporting purposes.
- Strong writing skills for creating clear documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.
- Experience performing background checks and managing sensitive or confidential information responsibly.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to physical security operations and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Prior experience in performing risk assessments or audits within a corporate or public safety environment is preferred.
- Education
A 4-year college degree or higher in Law Enforcement, Security, Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Schedule & Availability
This position requires a high level of availability and responsibility.
The Project Manager must:
- Be available to WMATA by telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Maintain 24-hour communication capability
- Ensure management coverage 7 days per week
- Be available for major events and other operational requirements as requested by WMATA

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
