ABOUT THE ROLE
Top Hat Catering is looking for a skilled and passionate Event Culinary Specialist to join our kitchen team for the upcoming concert season at the KettleHouse Amphitheater. This is a hands-on cooking role at the heart of our catering operation — preparing fresh, high-quality food for artists and touring crew across some of Montana’s most exciting live events. Our events span a wide range of settings — from weddings and corporate events to major concerts at venues including Washington-Grizzly Stadium. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
– Preparing and cooking a wide range of hot and cold dishes to a consistently high standard
– Working across all areas of the kitchen — prep, hot line, cold station, and plating
– Following menus and recipes accurately while adapting to event-specific requirements
– Preparing food in large volumes while maintaining quality and presentation
– Managing prep lists and ensuring all stations are fully ready before service
– Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout every shift
– Labeling and storing all food correctly in compliance with allergen and dietary requirements
– Communicating clearly with the culinary lead and front of house team throughout service
– Assisting with kitchen setup and full breakdown before and after each event
– Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently at all times
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
– Proven experience in a professional kitchen, catering, or food service environment
– Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
– Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality output during high-volume service
– Solid understanding of allergen awareness and dietary requirements
– A team player who communicates well and supports those around them
– Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
– Reliable and punctual — tardiness or absence will not be tolerated and may result in termination
