Position: Assistant Innkeeper
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: General Manager
Position Overview
The Assistant Innkeeper (AI) at The Inn supports daily operations across the inn, restaurant, retail, and event spaces. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional guest experiences, strengthens team performance, and upholds the brand standards of our boutique, narrative-driven property. The AI role serves primarily as an operations manager, in support of the GM.
The Candidate for this role is eager, determined, exercises strong organization skills, and a true self-starter. This candidate can evoke and embody brand standard and culture both internally and externally, verbally and written.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations across lodging, restaurant, retail, and events.
- Support the General Manager with staff leadership, scheduling, and departmental oversight.
- Ensure condition of spaces daily to maintain the Six Bells Countryside Inn brand standards.
- Assist with onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback for staff members.
- Maintain strong customer service standards; resolve guest concerns with professionalism and warmth.
- Manage and maintain current menus and pricing within Toast POS.
- Oversee Mews PMS operations, checking for discrepancies, overbillings, etc.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining SOPs and operational documentation.
- Event Sales Assistance
- Oversee event execution, works with GM to organize setup, breakdown, and staffing needs.
- Oversee daily email communication with future guests in a timely manner.
Inn Support
- As needed, the AI may be required to aide in Housekeeping and Front Desk positions.
- The AI will support the GM and Front Desk to execute efficient check in and out processes, streamline guest communications, and room inspections.
- The AI will support inventory management of Inn and Admin supplies.
Tavern Support
- As needed, the AI may be required to aide in FOH and BOH positions.
- The AI will support the GM, FOH, and BOH to maintain brand service standards, aid and direct training for FOH team members, and maintain customer satisfaction.
- The AI will support inventory Management of FOH supplies.
Events Support
- The AI will aid the GM in event detailing, Banquet Event Order construction and management, and event setup and breakdown.
Retail Support
- The AI will aid the Front Desk and Retail team in inventory management,
Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of Hospitality Experience, 1-2 years in leadership or supervisory positions
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with hospitality systems at an administrative level (Toast, ResyOS, Mews, or similar).
- Exceptional organization and multitasking abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to squat, stand, lean, stoop, and bend
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to Stand, Sit, Walk for extended periods
