Position Summary
Steves & Sons, Inc. is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Department Lead to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a maintenance professional with strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting expertise, as well as leadership experience and the ability to support the daily operations of the maintenance department.
The Maintenance Department Lead will provide technical leadership to maintenance technicians, coordinate preventive maintenance activities, manage maintenance documentation through eMaint, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support maintenance technicians in the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.

Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.

Coordinate and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment records, and maintenance documentation using eMaint CMMS.

Monitor maintenance performance metrics and ensure accurate data entry within the maintenance management system.

Install, modify, and optimize manufacturing equipment and production machinery.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment drawings.

Maintain and troubleshoot:

Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
-
Conveyor systems, gearboxes, and drive systems
-
Motor controls (low and high voltage)
-
HVAC equipment and facility support systems
- Perform welding and fabrication to support equipment repairs and improvements.

Support automation systems, including PLCs (Allen Bradley and Automation Direct).

Coordinate maintenance priorities with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.

Assist with maintenance planning, parts inventory management, and vendor coordination as needed.

Mentor, train, and develop maintenance technicians.

Promote and enforce all safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements

5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.

Strong expertise in:

Mechanical systems and power transmission

Electrical systems and motor controls

Hydraulics and pneumatics

HVAC systems and troubleshooting

Welding and fabrication
- Experience using eMaint or other CMMS platforms required.

Experience with PLCs, automation, and controls troubleshooting preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support a fast-paced manufacturing operation.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Flexibility to work extended hours or respond to urgent maintenance needs when necessary.
