Key Responsibilities:

Work with wet lab scientists to develop testable biological hypotheses and collaborate in designing rigorous preclinical experiments

Collaborate with other data scientists and be a subject matter expert in bioinformatics / sequence analysis portion of a drug discovery and development project.

Analyze large amounts of sequencing data to guide the identification and development of DNA-based (AAV-based), RNA-based (xRNA), or protein-based (antibodies) treatments.

Utilize bioinformatics skills to identify novel therapeutic targets and develop insights how genetic variants affect human disease in general.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Senior Expert I: Ph.D. with 2 or more years of experience (ideally in industry) in computational biology, genomics, biological sequence design, or related fields. Senior Expert II 3+ years of industry experience in computational biology, genomics biological sequence design or related fields.

Experience in programming with Python and/or R

Experience in processing and analyzing sequencing data, genomic variations

Experience in neuroscience and/or rare diseases highly preferred
Preferred Requirements:

Familiarity with shRNA, partnering with lab scientists

Designing DNA or RNA sequencing, using genomic databases
The salary for the Senior Expert I position is expected to range between $119,000 and $222,000 per year.
The salary for the Senior Expert II position is expected to range between $132,000 and $245,000 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
