Action K-9 Security, Inc. is seeking professional and dependable K-9 Security Officers to join our growing team. In this role, you will work alongside highly trained K-9 units to protect people, property, and assets at private and government facilities across the Chicagoland.
This position is ideal for candidates with security, military, or law enforcement experience who are passionate about working with K-9s and maintaining a safe environment.
No prior K-9 handling experience? Qualified applicants will be enrolled in our Patrol K-9 Handler Course to become certified.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Have 2 years of documented experience as a Security Officer
- Hold a Valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC)
- Hold a 20-Hour Basic Security Certificate
- Have a strong interest in working with and handling dogs
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Prior K-9 Handler experience
- Background in law enforcement, military service, or security operations
- First Aid, CPR, or conflict management certifications
- Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
Pre-Employment Requirements
All candidates must be able to:
- Pass a drug screening
- Complete a psychological evaluation
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation
- Pass a physical examination
Key Responsibilities
As a K-9 Security Officer, you will:
- Conduct regular patrols to detect suspicious activity and prevent unauthorized access
- Monitor property and maintain a safe and secure environment
- Respond quickly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies
- Maintain accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
- Enforce company policies and safety procedures
- Assist customers while maintaining site security
- Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary
