Wise Landscaping & Irrigation is a licensed landscape and irrigation contractor serving the San Antonio area. We specialize in irrigation systems, drainage solutions, landscape construction, sod installation, artificial turf, retaining walls, and complete landscape renovations.
We're looking for an experienced Landscape & Irrigation Technician who can perform both landscape construction and irrigation work with minimal supervision. This is a full-time W-2 employee position for someone who wants a long-term career with opportunities for advancement.
What You'll Do
This position requires experience in both landscaping and irrigation. Daily responsibilities include:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems
- Install sprinkler heads, valves, PVC pipe, controllers, wiring, and drainage systems
- Dig trenches and install irrigation and drainage lines
- Install sod, trees, shrubs, mulch, rock, and landscape materials
- Assist with landscape construction projects, including grading, planting, and hardscape preparation
- Operate trenchers, compactors, skid steers, and other landscape equipment safely
- Read landscape and irrigation plans when needed
- Load and unload materials and maintain clean job sites
- Ensure work meets company quality standards and safety requirements
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscaping, irrigation, landscape construction, or a related field OR
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience leading landscape or irrigation crews
- Experience performing both irrigation and landscape installation
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and punctuality
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance while representing the company
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are highly preferred and may qualify candidates for higher starting pay:
- Texas Licensed Irrigation Technician
- Currently working toward obtaining a Texas Irrigation Technician License
- Experience troubleshooting irrigation systems and controllers
- Experience operating construction and landscape equipment
- Ability to read plans and work independently
Compensation
Starting Pay: $19.00–$21.00 per hour
Starting pay is based on:
- Proven landscaping experience
- Proven irrigation experience
- Technical knowledge and skill level
- Licensing and certifications
- Overall ability to work independently and produce quality work
