Endeavor: Wyndham South Minneapolis, located in Burnsville, MN is currently seeking a talented Sales Manager to join their team!
The Sales Manager will proactively develop and manage group and corporate accounts to generate revenue through hotel room sales, meetings, and events. This role plays a vital part in expanding the hotel's client base, maintaining key relationships, and ensuring group business success through strategic outreach, personalized service, and consistent goal achievement.
Administration:
- Process payments and apply discounts for group bookings.
- Create and manage documentation including Group Sales Agreements, Group Resumes, Corporate Rate Letters, and LNR Agreements.
- Submit weekly sales reports to the Director of Sales detailing activity, production PACE, and progress toward revenue goals.
- Track citywide events and manage calendars to identify opportunities for group sales.
- Design and implement special group rates for key accounts in collaboration with the Director of Sales.
- Assist in developing and implementing group sales strategies aligned with hotel budget and goals
Support:
- Oversee key account group arrivals and coordinate with hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Handle guest complaints or reviews related to group and corporate sales, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
- Support the Director of Sales by ensuring distribution of room sales aligns with strategic market segment goals.
- Attend monthly CVB meetings to stay informed of city events and networking opportunities.
Personal Effectiveness:
- Meet and exceed weekly sales and prospecting goals.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and service in all interactions.
- Consistently track and nurture volume from key accounts.
- Stay organized and proactive in managing a high volume of leads and long-term client relationships.
Communication:
- Develop and distribute group marketing materials (e.g., SMERF email campaigns).
- Network with event planners, wedding coordinators, associations, and companies to secure group bookings.
- Attend in-person meetings with prospective clients to present the hotel’s value proposition and close future business.
- Proactively reach out to potential clients to secure bookings for rooms, meetings, and events.
- Build strong relationships with key accounts and maintain regular communication to support long-term business.
- All other duties and tasks assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or relevant hospitality or sales experience.
- Understanding of local market, citywide events, and group travel trends; knowledge of SMERF and corporate group segments is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and accounts simultaneously.
- Proven track record of meeting sales goals and revenue targets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software and hotel sales systems is a plus.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and professional under pressure.
