To analyze credit data and financial information of existing and prospective borrowers to ensure loan requests are acceptable within the Bank's objectives, plans and policies. To prepare credit presentations based upon findings to help in making decisions on lending and credit worthiness.
The incumbent is responsible for the following functions:
Credit Administration: Lending is within the limits of loan authority and according to established loan policies and procedures. The incumbent interviews customers, investigates credit, appraises collateral, analyzes financial statements and accepts or rejects loans, makes sure Lender approvals are compliant with loan policy. The incumbent follows current loans to ensure complete conformity with terms. The incumbent will need to learn and understand all aspects of commercial lending and underwriting while suggesting improvements and changes. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying potential credit risk factors within the credit portfolio at inception of a loan on an ongoing basis. The incumbent will need to ensure loan files are complete with all required documents and information. The person will need to understand SBA and FSA products and programs and utilize them when necessary and when in the best interest of the bank.
Business Development: The incumbent has the responsibility to establish relationships with existing and potential customers with the intent to improve the Bank's profitability and continue growth of the Bank. The incumbent takes an active part in the Officer Call Program. This includes maintenance of contacts while preserving a competitive edge on area institutions. This incumbent will need to understand and exceed the expectations of the customer as well as identify business opportunities and solicit referrals.
