Setting: Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Fort Wayne Recovery is seeking a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support adults on their recovery journey from mental health and substance use disorders. In this role, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment by supervising clients, encouraging participation in treatment, transporting clients to appointments and recovery meetings, and collaborating closely with our clinical team.
Because transportation is an essential function of this position, candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, obtain any required driving endorsements, and immediately report any changes to their driving status during employment.

Build positive, supportive relationships with clients throughout treatment

Supervise client activities and ensure safety while maintaining awareness of client whereabouts

Encourage participation in groups, appointments, and therapeutic programming

Facilitate psychoeducational and recreational activities

Monitor clients for changes in behavior or medical concerns and report appropriately

Conduct drug screenings and assist with admissions, including client belongings searches

Safely transport clients to medical appointments, recovery meetings, and other approved activities using company vehicles

Document client observations and maintain accurate daily logs

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support individualized care

Respond appropriately to emergencies and help maintain a safe treatment environment

High school diploma or GED preferred

Previous experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, healthcare, or human services preferred

CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Valid Indiana driver's license and clean driving record required

Must obtain and maintain any required driving endorsements

Must immediately report any traffic violations, license suspensions, or changes to driving eligibility while employed

Associate's or bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field is a plus

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and compassionate in a fast-paced environment

Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shift

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Frequent driving and transporting clients using company vehicles
