VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital
Exceptional Medicine. Patient Care. Extraordinary Team.
At VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital, we believe exceptional patient care begins with exceptional people. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants are far more than support staff- they are highly skilled medical professionals, patient advocates, educators, and indispensable members of our patient care team.
When you join VCA WLA, you become part of a hospital where education, collaboration, and patient safety are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to developing the next generation of veterinary professionals through structured training, mentorship, and continuous learning, while delivering some of the most advanced emergency and specialty veterinary medicine in the country.
Whether you're an experienced technician or veterinary assistant looking to expand your expertise or someone eager to grow within specialty medicine, VCA WLA provides an environment where you will be challenged, supported, and empowered to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, clients, and your colleagues every day.
Our Culture
At VCA WLA, we are intentionally building a culture centered around four core principles:
Patient Safety First
Every decision begins with one question: What is safest for our patient? We foster an environment where speaking up, asking questions, identifying safety concerns, and continuously improving our processes is expected and encouraged. Every Associate has both the responsibility and the authority to advocate for patients and their safety.
Learning Never Stops
We believe great technicians are developed through mentorship, education, and hands-on experience. From your first day, you'll receive structured onboarding, department-specific training, mentorship from experienced technicians, and ongoing opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge. Whether you're learning advanced anesthesia monitoring, chemotherapy administration, emergency stabilization, or specialty procedures, our goal is to help you become more confident and skilled over time.
One Hospital. One Team.
Specialty medicine works because of collaboration. Our departments don't work in silos- they work together. Every case is an opportunity to partner with board-certified specialists, residents, interns, experienced technicians, and support staff to provide the highest level of patient care.
Excellence Through Accountability
We challenge ourselves to continually improve. We value professionalism, teamwork, feedback, communication, ownership, and integrity. We celebrate success, learn from mistakes without blame, and continuously strive to raise the standard of veterinary medicine.
