Become ALL IN as a Front Office Coordinator!
If you want more than a job – you want to discover a passion and be a part of the revolution in maternity care, this position is for you!
**PLEASE NOTE: this is not a remote position. Candidate must be willing to work in-office.
Austin Area Birthing Center seeks a people-loving candidate to help our clients navigate the administrative and billing side of pregnancy. We have provided personalized, compassionate midwifery care to thousands of local parents over 35 years of dedicated service here in the Austin metro. As one of the larger birth centers in the country, we advocate for choice in maternity care and are active at both the state and national levels in billing and legislative efforts. Here at home, our front office and billing teams handle many different administrative tasks so that our providers can focus on what’s important – healthy, happy clients and babies.
What your position looks like:
- You will serve as an integral part of our front office team, essentially serving as a point-person for clients.
- You will assist new clients in joining our practice by responding to inquiries and setting up tours.
- You will check clients in and out at the front desk, scheduling appointments, collecting and entering payments, and answering general questions.
- You will help our clients understand their insurance benefits and how they apply to our charges by creating personalized quotes for our services.
- You will answer basic billing questions and help clients understand our financial agreement and associated forms/policies.
- You may assist our billing team with various tasks and projects as needed.
- You are flexible and willing to travel to our other location to help out the team when necessary.
Your Qualifications:
- You work or have worked in a medical or other fast-paced office environment
- You support out-of-hospital birth and believe families deserve a voice in their healthcare
- You fully understand electronic health records and insurance billing software (or programs that are comparable in their complexity)
- You have experience with insurance billing and explaining costs to patients.
- You love Excel and spreadsheets as much as we do and are familiar with other MS Office programs.
- You stay focused and engaged when performing repetitive tasks
- You solve problems logically
- You have been praised for excellent reading, writing, and listening skills
- You pride yourself on your accuracy and attention to detail
- You understand HIPAA and respect client privacy.
What we can do for you:
- Predictable working hours in a close-knit, fun environment.
- Provide meaning behind the work you do - the midwifery model of care is a movement aimed at increasing care choices for women/birthing people and reducing maternal mortality rates in childbirth.
- A healthy balance between providing essential, time-sensitive services and leaving those duties at the office.
- Lots of benefits like paid vacation, medical, vision and dental plan, IRA, and short-term disability insurance
*Please note that this position will require that you are able to work at either location for coverage as needed, though you will primarily be at our North location.
