Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver-Passenger Van Operator to provide safe, reliable transportation services for residents at an assisted-living facility. Duties
- Safely operate passenger vans and shuttle vehicles in accordance with local traffic laws and state transportation regulations
- Transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, social activities, and other scheduled outings
- Assist residents with boarding and disembarking vehicles, including those with mobility challenges or special needs
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including routine inspections and reporting any issues
- Communicate clearly with residents, staff, and clients to coordinate schedules and address any special requirements
- Adhere strictly to all traffic regulations, safety protocols, and company policies during all driving activities
- Ensure accurate documentation of trips, mileage logs, and incident reports as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, or chauffeur with a valid driver’s license for passenger vehicles
- Experience operating passenger vans or similar large vehicles such as buses or limousines
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on local driving routes
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting residents in boarding or disembarking vehicles
- Familiarity with state transportation regulations and commercial driving standards
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Demonstrated customer service orientation with patience and professionalism when working with seniors or individuals with mobility needs
- Ability to perform light maintenance checks on vehicles and report issues promptly
- Physical capability for heavy lifting when necessary to assist residents or handle luggage
