Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and materials in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies.
- Assist dentist chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty treatments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining proper aseptic techniques and ensuring patient safety.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix; document medical history, vital signs, dental procedures, and treatment plans accurately.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about oral health, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while adhering to healthcare infection control standards and ensuring all dental instruments are properly processed for reuse.
Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience required.
- Proficient in Dentrix software.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Skilled in making temporaries and using dental scanning equipment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed
- Work collaboratively with the dental team to ensure smooth office flow.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting with a focus on efficiency and patient comfort.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding relevant to dental procedures.
- Experience operating digital imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners; familiarity with medical imaging protocols.
- Expertise in infection prevention management including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control practices.
- Ability to navigate EMR systems like Dentrix for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment notes.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
