SUMMARY: To provide psycho-educational services and consultation which promote academic and social learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. Consultation • Consults with parents, school staff, agencies or personnel regarding mental health, behavioral and educational concerns. • Effectively communicates information regarding nature, needs, and programming of disabled students. • Shares with staff information regarding normal childhood development to include social, emotional and cognitive development as it may be applied to instruction. • Trains or provides school staff with information about intervention procedures which relate to improvement of mental health and educational services. • Provides consultation for PPT and RST processes. • Serves as a consultant regarding program evaluation, applied research, and data interpretation. • Serves as a consultant regarding students receiving behavioral modification services. • Participates in case conferences when referred students are involved, or as requested. • Serves as a resource person concerning learning disabilities for other school personnel. Intervention • Provides individual or group counseling requested by PPT. • Provides behavioral management consultation requested by PPT or RST referral. • Shares supervision of medication with RST/PPT. • Serves as liaison coordinator for external psychological services when it becomes necessary. • Provides consultation regarding appropriate educational programming. • Provides preventative/pre-intervention strategies referred by RST. • Provides direct/indirect interventions as defined by the IEP. • Collaborates in the development of IEP’s
