Position Overview
Solar Shift Strategies is hiring motivated Outside Sales Representatives throughout New Mexico to introduce local households to the state's community solar program and help them lower their monthly electric bills. In this role, you will meet with residents in the field, explain how the program works, answer questions, and guide interested customers through a quick enrollment. Most conversations take about 10 minutes from introduction to sign-up.
This is a full-time, commission-based position with uncapped earning potential. Top-performing representatives earn more than $3,000 per week, and most new representatives begin earning within their first week.
About the Program
Community solar is a New Mexico program established under state law (Senate Bill 84) and regulated by the Public Regulation Commission. Local solar farms supply clean energy to the grid, and enrolled customers receive credits on their utility bill at a discounted rate, producing savings from the start.
In the areas our team serves, customers who enroll save 28% on their energy charges, with no income requirements, and those savings are locked in for up to 25 years. For a typical household paying around $120 a month, that represents close to $400 in annual savings. Enrollment requires no rooftop panels, no upfront cost, and no credit check, and customers may cancel at any time without penalty. The program is available to homeowners and renters served by PNM, El Paso Electric, or Xcel Energy.

- Seven local solar farms with a combined 51 MW of clean energy capacity
- Nearly 2 million kWh of clean energy delivered and 1.6 million pounds of CO2 avoided
- Backed by a New Mexico solar provider with over 25 years of experience
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with residents in assigned New Mexico territories
- Clearly communicate the community solar program and its cost-saving benefits
- Answer questions and address concerns in a professional, knowledgeable manner
- Guide interested customers through the enrollment process (approximately 10 minutes)
- Track daily activity and work toward individual and team goals

Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and goal-oriented
- Comfortable working outdoors and meeting people in person throughout the day
- Prior sales or customer service experience preferred but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check
