Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cooler/Freezer Stocker to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently stocking, organizing, and maintaining products within refrigerated and frozen storage areas. Your efforts will ensure that inventory is accurately managed, products are properly stored, and the warehouse operates smoothly. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, safety awareness, and the ability to handle heavy loads while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product presentation.
Duties
- Stock and organize refrigerated and frozen products using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring proper placement for easy access and inventory control.
- Utilize RF scanners to accurately track inventory movements, update stock levels, and support inventory management systems.
- Load and unload shipments safely, verifying incoming items against purchase orders and ensuring correct storage.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the cooler/freezer areas to comply with safety regulations.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and merchandising of products to optimize presentation for retail or distribution.
- Perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by preparing orders for dispatch and recording stock movements accurately.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to identify discrepancies, assist in stock replenishment, and support inventory control initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members across departments to coordinate stocking schedules and resolve issues promptly.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts responsibly, following safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience, particularly in cold storage environments or retail settings involving produce or perishable goods.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, RF scanners, and material handling equipment including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing heavy loads in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and product placement.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying inventory quantities.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse team interactions.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, warehouse operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and product merchandising.
- Customer service orientation when interacting with team members or retail store personnel.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety standards.
