Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Forklift) – 1st Shift
Location: St. Charles, IL
Pay: $19.00–$20.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
About the Opportunity:
Summit Staffing is hiring an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a well-established wholesale distributor of electronic products in St. Charles, IL. This is a small, team-oriented warehouse (approximately 40,000 sq. ft.) with only seven employees, so we're looking for someone who is dependable, flexible, and enjoys wearing multiple hats. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
- Operate a sit-down propane forklift safely and efficiently.
- Receive incoming inventory and verify shipments against packing slips.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Stage and organize outgoing freight.
- Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse organization.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
- Keep shipping and receiving documentation organized.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
- Work closely with a small warehouse team to ensure orders ship on time.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent Shipping & Receiving experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years operating a sit-down propane forklift.
- Previous experience loading and unloading trucks.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Basic computer skills for shipping and receiving documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in a distribution or warehouse environment preferred.
- Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred but not required
Schedule Requirements:
- Regular hours are: Monday–Friday - 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Flexibility is REQUIRED.
- Candidates must be willing to:
- Start as early as 5:00 AM
- Stay as late as 4:00 PM when business demands
- Work occasional half-days on Saturdays
