Job Summary
The Community Lead will work closely with the Program Director, Site Support Team, and the Administrative Team to implement program structure at our TK-8 after school program. This includes support in community engagement, conflict resolution, and logistical operations. This position requires strong organizational skills and experience in behavior management with children. The Community Lead will build and maintain relationships with all staff members and assist management of the Support Team.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate inclusive welcoming program culture and values through BAMP enrichment activities.
- Lead efforts in building community, engagement, and morale.
- Monitor and model healthy relationships between staff and students.
- Facilitate behavior intervention through restorative practices and conflict resolution.
- Communicate effectively with parents, families, and school day staff.
- Assist with training and managing support staff members.
- Assist with the implementation of all program components + including tutoring and our volunteer program.
- Assist with administrative duties as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Child Development preferred, but not required.
- Experience and desire to work with TK-8 youth from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.
- Possesses strong organizational skills and knowledge of Google Workspace platforms
- Ability to adapt, be flexible and handle emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Demonstration of leadership and commitment to youth empowerment.
- Has a positive energy, great listening skills and a sense of humor,
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass live scan fingerprinting (background check) and provide a negative TB test.

Administrative Duties
- Actively participate in appropriate administrative duties related to the role, including but not limited to meeting participation, student attendance reporting, payroll reporting, staff development activities, and staff and family communications.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $24-26/hr, depending on experience.

Workplace Demands
- Work Hours - Part-time, hourly, with some responsibilities on weekends and/or evenings, depending on the program’s concert calendar.
- Location - Exposed to changing conditions in indoor, outdoor, and virtual. settings--including in school campuses, classrooms, libraries, offices, venues, parks, and other community spaces.
- Cleanliness & Odors - Clean to moderately clean; frequently works with children who have varying access to hygiene support.
- Social - Communicates with youth and adults in one-on-one, small groups, and large groups.
- Structure & Predictability - Moderate.
- Physical - Can remain in a stationary position; Can move through crowded and uncrowded spaces with or without assistance; Can communicate and exchange information and ideas; Can lift and/or transport up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance; Can reliably report for work on time at job sites.
- Light - Lighting is typically fluorescent or natural.
- Noise - Noise levels range from quiet to loud.
