Position Overview
The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in supporting our physicians and clinical team by performing diagnostic testing, gathering patient information, assisting with patient flow, and ensuring accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing including:

Visual acuity
-
Auto-refraction
-
Tonometry
-
Pupillary assessment
-
Visual field testing
-
OCT and imaging preparation
-
Obtain and document accurate patient medical histories and chief complaints
-
Prepare patients for examination and assist physicians during clinic visits

Accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
-
Maintain efficient patient flow while providing exceptional customer service

Clean and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical areas

Educate patients on testing procedures and treatment plans as directed

Collaborate closely with physicians, technicians, scribes, front desk staff, and optical personnel

Support a positive, professional, and team-focused clinic environment
Requirements:
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
-
Previous ophthalmology or optometry experience preferred
-
COA certification is a plus, but not required
-
Experience with EMR systems such as Nextech preferred
