Staff Accountant (Construction Accounting | WIP | Job Costing)

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with experience in construction accounting, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and job costing to support our growing operations.
This role will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, supporting month-end close, and assisting with project-based accounting functions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of WIP reporting, Percentage of Completion (POC), and job costing, and thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Manage depreciation and amortization schedules
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Review and analyze project expenses for accuracy and cost control
- Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
- Assist with project closeouts and financial tracking
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decision-making
- Maintain and organize subcontractor agreements and related documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction accounting, WIP reporting, and Percentage of Completion (POC)
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction or project-based accounting
- Familiarity with job costing and contract management
