About Milky Flakes
Milky Flakes is a dessert shop specializing in gelato, soft serve, and bingsu. We're looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support our kitchen team during our busiest hours. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying busy, keeping things organized, and helping the team behind the scenes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the kitchen team with daily food preparation.
- Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients.
- Prepare toppings and other ingredients.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift.
- Label, date, and rotate products using FIFO standards.
- Keep the kitchen, storage areas, and workstations clean and organized.
- Take out trash and assist with general cleaning duties.
- Help receive and organize deliveries.
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assist other team members as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Must be available to work evening shifts, especially Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, until approximately 11:00 PM or midnight.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.
