Vacancy Notice: Paraprofessional
JOB TITLE: Paraprofessional DEPARTMENT: As assigned
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Assistant Principal TERM: 180 Days (School Calendar)
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated during the probationary period and annually
thereafter in accordance with the Evergreen Park Education Association collective bargaining agreement.
SALARY: Salary and fringe benefits in accordance with the Evergreen Park Education Association collective
bargaining agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Paraprofessional license, at minimum
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, compassion, and empathy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong reading and interpretation skills in dealing with documents, textbooks, instructions and
manuals
- High integrity with sensitive information and confidentiality
- Bilingual communication skills a plus
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have, at minimum, a valid Illinois State Board of Education paraprofessional license.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the educational and social development of students
- Provide instructional reinforcement with individual or small groups of students
- Reinforce classroom management
- Tutor and assist students with makeup work
- Uphold all school expectations
- Assist in student service communications with students
- Participate in professional development activities
- Perform clerical and supportive tasks for deans and/or teachers
