Job Summary
The Security Officer shall provide a highly visible and professional security presence throughout the property to deter criminal activity, enforce community policies, and promote resident safety.
Duties
Conduct continuous foot and/or vehicle patrols of the property, including parking lots, garages, common areas, hallways, stairwells, fitness center, pool area, clubhouse, and perimeter areas.
- Monitor and deter criminal activity, including vehicle break-ins, theft, trespassing, loitering, vandalism, and other suspicious behavior.
- Enforce community rules and regulations, including pool closure hours, clubhouse policies, parking regulations, and amenity access requirements.
- Respond promptly to resident concerns, disturbances, noise complaints, suspicious activity, and property-related incidents.
- Verify resident and guest access when necessary and monitor unauthorized individuals on the property.
- Observe and report maintenance and safety concerns, including damaged gates, broken lighting, unsecured doors, hazards, and other conditions affecting resident safety.
- Maintain a visible presence in areas identified as high-risk or frequent problem locations.
- Complete detailed Daily Activity Reports (DARs), incident reports, and shift logs documenting all patrols, observations, and enforcement actions.
- Submit required patrol verification, including hourly patrol checks, geolocation clock-in/clock-out records, and timestamped photos when applicable.
- Coordinate with property management and local law enforcement when necessary regarding emergencies, criminal activity, or significant incidents.
- Provide professional customer service while interacting with residents, guests, vendors, and property staff.
- Immediately report any emergency, criminal activity, property damage, safety hazard, or significant incident to management.
Qualifications
ESS Nationwide Security will assign qualified, professional, and customer-service-oriented security officers to Apex West Midtown. All officers assigned to the property will meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Possess all required state licenses, registrations, and certifications necessary to perform security services in the State of Georgia.
- Successfully pass criminal background screening and employment verification.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with residents, guests, vendors, and property management staff.
- Ability to patrol the property on foot and/or by vehicle for extended periods while maintaining a visible security presence.
- Experience in residential, multifamily, apartment community, or property security operations preferred.
- Ability to identify suspicious activity, security vulnerabilities, and safety hazards and take appropriate action.
- Knowledge of incident reporting procedures and proper documentation practices.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies, conflicts, and high-stress situations.
- Capable of enforcing community policies and property rules in a firm, professional, and respectful manner.
- Ability to operate smartphones, reporting applications, and electronic timekeeping systems for patrol verification and reporting purposes.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required security uniform while on duty.
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to scheduled shifts on time.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety and security of the community.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
