Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of trailers and heavy equipment to ensure optimal safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and reliable, supporting seamless transportation operations. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including air brake systems, suspensions, axles, tires, and lighting components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other critical trailer components.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify trailers and heavy equipment.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for tasks such as tire service, alignment adjustments, and equipment repair.
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts and other industrial equipment, safely and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, or trailer maintenance.
- Experience or equivalent technical training preferred.
- Knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, and suspension components.
- Ability to perform welding (including soldering), fabrication, and assembly tasks accurately.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools for diesel engines and automotive electronics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and work in physically demanding environments.
