This position will be accountable for the management and growth of the MegaMex Foods Food Service business in position’s prescribed district. This will include working with regional food service distributors, regional operators, & channels of business such as hospitality and healthcare. In addition to achieving sales and profitability targets, responsibilities include directing and managing broker networks as well as relationship development with all major regional operators and distributors in their area. The Regional Manager will work closely with other Regional Managers in similar zones.
Major End Results (Primary Duties):
1. Deliver sales growth and market dominance by strengthening MegaMex Foods
penetration in all key accounts / distributors. This will be accomplished by the development of close relationships with all key customers / accounts, determining operator needs, maintaining a strong MegaMex visibility and aggressive sales effort on current and new MegaMex Food’s products. Prepares for and conducts operator customer cold calls as needed. Discovers and develops new business and sales opportunities. Example: Would include frequent sales calls, reviews, cuttings, program development and participation in operator functions. Visibility would include trade shows, conferences, and channel functions.
2. Deliver and exceed profitability targets for area. This will be accomplished by managing all aspects of profit contribution including sales levels, selling expenses, marketing expenses, product mix, billing deviations, and promotion dollars.
3. Manages and develops broker network to drive results. No major operator should have a stronger relationship with the broker then with the MegaMex Foods Food Service Regional Manager. The Regional is responsible for the management and strengthening of the broker networks in their area. Example: Develop a close relationship with and treat brokers as partners. This would include both the top broker management as well as field personnel. Regional is responsible for giving the broker clear targets and objectives, letting them know our product priorities and making sure they know what our expectations are for product presentations and trade shows. Regional must monitor that smaller operators are being called on, that new broker hires get strong MegaMex Foods product training and that there is a good process for training and educating the brokers on our new items and introductions.
4. Maintains strong communication and interaction with the rest of MegaMex
Regional Sales Managers: With the substantial crossover of many major chains, operators, and distributors between regional areas, headquarter calls in one area will affect other areas. The regional is responsible for good communication between other regional managers and build consensus on these customers. Also communication is important in understanding corporate priorities & plans, planned new items, and other Regional manager successes and experiences. Example: Frequent calls between regional partners with discussions on shared customers, successful sales calls, product promotions, customer problems, competition, new items, customer personnel changes, etc. There must also be communication and agreement in staffing national trade shows, conferences and meetings.
5. Timely and accurate district administration: Regional must monitor all broker paperwork requirements as well as those of their own. Example: This includes off invoice promotional bulletins, accurate forecasts for bill back and lump sum promotions, monthly reviews and clean up of accruals, sales forecasting, and R & D requests
6. Pluses: Bilingual (Spanish speaking preferred),knowledge / experience in managing GPOs (ex. Aramark, Compass, Foodbuy), culinary experience & passion for Mexican Foods.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; and six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in Food Service industry or culinary fields required.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows suite of program applications (Excel, Word, MS Teams etc.) and trade management systems / software.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel 50% of the time.
