MedFirst Staffing is actively recruiting Registered Nurses (RN) for full-time, part-time, and weekend positions at two state-operated juvenile correctional facilities in Columbia, South Carolina, including a short-term pre-trial detention facility and a long-term commitment facility for convicted juveniles.
These positions provide premium hourly pay (W-2 wages paid weekly), are highly competitive, and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the specified schedule.
Job Details:
Facility Type: Short-term, pre-trial detention facility
- Full-time, five 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
- Weekends, Saturday and Sunday, 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
- Full-time, five 8-hour shifts, weekdays and weekends, 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.)
- Part-time (24 hours average), weekdays and weekends, 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.)
Facility Type: Long-term commitment facility
- Full-time, five 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
- Weekends Infirmary Nurse, Saturday and Sunday, 1st shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
- Full-time, five 8-hour shifts, weekdays and weekends, 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.)
- Weekends Infirmary Nurse, Friday and Saturday, 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) with occasional coverage for one weekday as needed
Primary Job Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments
- Execute patient treatment plans
- Administer medication and immunizations
- Medical clinic/sick call
- Update medical records

Registered Nurse (RN) Certification and Credentials Requirements:
- Current South Carolina or compact RN license
- One year of nursing experience preferred
- Current CPR (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
- Current PPD
