Molly’s Dog Care, Alexandria, VA
Do you love dogs, enjoy staying active, and want to be part of a fun, fast-paced team that makes tails wag every day?
Molly’s Dog Care is hiring Dog Daycare Attendants for our Alexandria location. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves animals, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to grow in the pet care industry.
Previous professional dog care experience is helpful, but not required. We can teach dog body language, playgroup management, cleaning standards, and safety protocols. What we cannot teach is a great attitude, reliability, compassion, and genuine love for dogs.
At Molly’s, we are not just watching dogs. We are creating a safe, structured, clean, and engaging daycare environment where dogs are known, loved, and cared for like family. Our playroom team is responsible for keeping dogs safe, happy, and healthy throughout the day, which closely matches the Playroom Attendant expectations in the Molly’s handbook.
What You’ll Do
As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you will help supervise and care for groups of dogs during daycare and boarding play sessions.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively supervising dog playgroups of different sizes, ages, and temperaments
- Monitoring dog body language, play styles, stress signals, and energy levels
- Redirecting dogs as needed to keep play safe and appropriate
- Keeping playrooms clean, organized, and sanitary throughout the shift
- Cleaning up messes promptly and helping with daily deep-cleaning tasks
- Safely moving dogs between playrooms, suites, crates, rest areas, and grooming
- Helping with structured daycare activities, enrichment, rest periods, and transitions
- Watching for signs of illness, injury, stress, or abnormal behavior
- Communicating concerns clearly to managers and team members
- Assisting with report card details, photos, and dog-specific notes when needed
- Supporting teammates during busy drop-off, pickup, feeding, and cleaning times
This is an active job. You will be on your feet, moving around, cleaning, handling dogs, and paying close attention throughout your shift.
