Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling, mental health support, and crisis intervention services to individuals and families. Your expertise will help clients navigate recovery, develop coping strategies, and achieve lasting wellness. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing behavioral health challenges through evidence-based practices and compassionate care. This is an evening position, 6-9 PM per diem to part-time, IOP and individual counseling.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake evaluations and diagnostic screenings, utilizing medical terminology and HIPAA-compliant documentation standards.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical guidelines such as ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis and case management.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management services to de-escalate situations effectively while ensuring patient safety.
- Facilitate addiction counseling and substance use disorder treatment programs, emphasizing recovery strategies within behavioral health frameworks.
- Maintain detailed medical records, document progress notes, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and support mental health or addiction medicine needs.
Experience
- Proven experience in social work or clinical counseling within home & community care settings or hospital environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis management, PTSD care, and behavior management techniques tailored to diverse populations including children & families.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices required for accurate recordkeeping.
- Familiarity with research methodologies related to behavioral health or addiction medicine is a plus.
- Prior experience with intake procedures, case management, and patient assessment in behavioral health or substance use disorder settings preferred.
