We are seeking an experienced Cook/Cafeteria Worker for our Early Learning Center who can fill in as a Teacher when needed. This is not a high-pressure production kitchen position. We supply the menu, using simple, healthy ingredients. We will train the right person for the position.

Qualifications:
Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to lift moderately heavy containers, handle cooking tools and appliances with or without accommodations. Must have drivers license with clean driving record. Must have or be willing to obtain your Food Handlers Certificate and Food Managers Certificate (Food Managers Certificate may be obtained after employment). Must have a negative TB test.
Reports to: Director, Assistant Director and/or Owner.
Responsibilities:
1) Prepare simple, nutritious food and snacks per supplied menu. These items will be prepared and delivered to each class and in proper quantity according to the Food Program.
2) Fill out Food Program meal production form while preparing each meal according to Food Program regulations.
3) Sanitize and keep areas clean according to Health Department and state standards. Areas assigned are:
* Garbage can and area around it
* Refrigerator inside and out
* Step stool
* Freezer
* Cooking utensils, pots, pans, serving utensils
* Floors (common area, hallway, kitchen, front, entry, bathrooms)
* Stove, oven and vent hood
* Pantry and kitchen cabinets, counters and sink(s)
* Other areas used in food production, preparation and/or serving
4) All food packages will be dated when opened. Monthly the refrigerator, freezer, pantry and kitchen cabinets will be inspected in order to dispose of out dated food.
5) Measure and serve appropriate age directed serving sizes according to guidelines established by Food Program and licensing.
6) Shop weekly to fulfill provided menus using approved vendors (example - H.E.B., Walmart, Sams Club) and brands.
7) Assist with classroom teaching and other duties as requested by manager or director.
8) Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background check.
9) Other duties as assigned.
