About the Opportunity
We are a privately owned and operated real estate management company overseeing a portfolio of residential properties in New Jersey. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable & Accounting Associate to join our growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is interested in developing into a broader accounting and bookkeeping role over time.
The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
· Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently.
· Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
· Enter invoices and maintain vendor records within the accounting system.
· Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments.
· Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Assist with bank reconciliations and monthly accounting close activities.
· Maintain organized accounting records and digital filing systems.
· Communicate with vendors, contractors, and internal team members regarding payment inquiries.
· Assist with budget tracking, expense analysis, and financial reporting as needed.
· Support year-end accounting activities and external audits.
· Participate in process improvements and accounting system enhancements.
· Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 3-7 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, accruals, and reconciliations.
· Experience working with multiple entities and high-volume invoice processing preferred.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
· Experience with AppFolio Accounting, QuickBooks, or RealPage Financial Suite is highly desirable but not required.
· Experience in real estate, property management, construction, or related industries is a plus.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
· Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Compensation Range: $60k-$75k
