Under the direction of an experienced machinist, the Machinist Helper assists with repairs and adjustments to multiple types of coffee equipment; such as: factory and field pumps, electrical and automotive equipment, agricultural implements.
Essential Duties/Functions:

Based on direction/instructions; uses tools and materials to be used for job assignment.

May measure with ruler, calipers and micrometers; uses necessary tools for job.

Sets up work on all types of machines with direction provided to complete necessary duty.

May operate different machinery under direction.

May assist in dismantling, overhauling, repairing and makes adjustments under direct direction to equipment

May operate equipment with training in assisting the loading, unloading and moving of equipment in the shop and factory.

Obtains material from warehouse, stockroom or scrap areas.

Cleans up and maintains shop equipment and shop area.

Certification and/or licensing may be required, such as driver’s license, professional license, or other.

If trained or has training, may do minor welding and cutting when necessary.

Does other related work as instructed by supervisor.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience

Must be able to understand and take direction in required instruction to complete jobs assigned to the duties required in the trade.

Prefer a working knowledge of types of machine shop equipment.

Must be able to work closely with the Machinist and all shop and plant employees.

Must be aware of OSHA’s requirements for a safe work place/area.
