Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Use knife skills safely and efficiently to chop, slice, dice, and portion ingredients for meal preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including food handling areas and equipment
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper storage, sanitation, and handling of all food items
- Support the team during meal service by ensuring timely food preparation and presentation
- Help with catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring quality control
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting fellow team members
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Basic cooking skills with an understanding of food preparation techniques
- Strong knife skills with attention to safety and precision
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
