Storm Water Innovative Solutions is looking for a field technician. This position would be based out of our Vista, CA yard. Storm Water Innovative Solutions (SWIS Corp) is a general contractor working in the stormwater industry providing stormwater compliance and maintenance services. The field technician will be responsible for inspections, maintenance, and reporting for stormwater filters and BMPs. They will also ensure construction equipment is properly maintained; and keep projects on schedule and within allotted timelines. The candidate should be extremely organized with excellent time management, communication, and project management skills. The candidate will be required to complete physical, mechanical, and construction related tasks. This position is salary-based DOE. after 90 days: 401k matching 4%, 10 days PTO annually, up to 12 days paid holiday (based on start date an annual holiday dates) medical re-imbursement, and phone allowance.
Objectives of this role
- To be an effective field technician in the stormwater industry
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are followed on construction sites
- Physically install and maintain pumps and stormwater BMPs
- Physically perform cleanings of stormwater catch basins, filter inserts & vaults
- Physically perform repairs on stormwater filters and vaults
- Conduct site visits & inspections of storm water BMPs
- Perform cleanings of catch basins, filter inserts & vaults
- Installation of pump systems
- Working with crew making confined space entry for inspections & cleaning
- Keep yard organized
- Requirements
- Be on time daily as schedules changes
- Oversee construction sites and supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Complete delegated responsibilities and tasks from supervisors, crew members, contractors, and other workers according to priorities and plans
- Emphasize safe use of all tools and equipment and enforce the proper use of safety gear, like helmets and goggles
- Must be able to physically work in the field on your own or with a small crew
- Must be able to occasionally stay overnight in a hotel in Southern California areaSkills and qualifications
- Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, and construction plans a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to problem-solve and fix routine errors
- Clean driving record
- California Drivers License
- Ability and knowledge of common power tools
- Able to pass DOT fisical
- Must possess valid driver license and have clean driving record
- Ability to tow a trailer with heavy duty pick up truck
- Reliable transportation.
