We are currently looking for a qualified Dental Hygienist to join our team. The position we have available is all day Monday-Thursday. Competitive pay based on experience ranges. The Dental Hygienist's duties include assessing the dental condition, caries risk, periodontal diagnosis, and oral hygiene needs of patients. The hygienist will review and document medical history, perform oral prophylaxis, probing, scaling and root planing. They will also take digital dental x-rays, apply sealants and fluorides. The hygienist will instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care and schedule continuing care appointments. Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong phone and computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We are a friendly, fast-paced office in Narberth looking for a professional, responsible, detail oriented person willing to work as a team member. PA local anesthesia license a plus. Experience with Dentrix dental practice management software is also a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using appropriate screening procedures, including medical history review and dental charting.
Performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning and polishing.
Applies sealants and fluorides.
Use of intra oral scanner
Sterilizes dental instruments and equipment for each patient and organizes and lays out instruments for dentist’s use.
Helps manage patient records, including obtaining dental records, questioning patients about their medical history, and recording the information for the dentist’s reference.
Advises patients on dental care and helps make patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
Responsible for keeping track of hygiene supplies and communicating with office manager on all hygiene supply orders. Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current license or certification to practice in Pennsylvania
Three years of experience preferred
Highly professional and dependable
Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, staff, vendors, and others strong computer and internet skills
Experience with dental practice management software a plus
Current CPR certification required
