General Summary
A Mechanic maintains equipment by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
Essential Job Functions
1. Regular and reliable attendance.
2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
3. Responsible for Daily Shift validations.
4. Must possess a current and valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Class A preferred.
5. Perform major overhauls to engines, transmission, differentials, hydraulics lifts along with accessories and components.
6. Perform all aspects of preventative maintenance inspections including lube oil and filter service.
7. Perform road test on vehicles to confirm repairs were performed correctly.
8. Maintain logs, charts, records, etc. as required to accomplish assignments.
9. Responsible for staying up to date on technical manuals, literature and technical advancement of the trade as it pertains to company owned equipment.
10. Follow and complete work direction issued by Supervisor.
11. Be actively involved in KSI safety processes.
12. Develop knowledge of KSI SOPs.
13. Follow all KS Industries, LP safety, and customer policies and procedures.
14. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out process.
- Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.).
- Ability to utilize Stop Work Authority (SWA).
- Ability to complete all assigned/required training
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of industry specific safety standards
Education and Experience
Preferably 5 years of industry experience along with knowledge of tools.
Working Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.
Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8’s and 4-10’s. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
