Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Maintenance Helper, an entry-level position dedicated to supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC industry, working alongside skilled technicians to develop your mechanical and technical skills. You will be instrumental in ensuring that HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably across various properties, contributing to comfortable indoor environments and property maintenance excellence.
Duties
- Assist experienced HVAC technicians with system installations, repairs, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support troubleshooting of HVAC equipment using hand tools, electrical diagnostics, and schematics.
- Help with the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems including boilers, refrigeration units, and building automation systems.
- Prepare work areas by organizing tools and equipment such as ohmmeters and other testing devices.
- Perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks under supervision to support HVAC system functionality.
- Participate in equipment troubleshooting to identify issues related to HVAC/R systems and mechanical components.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment during all field service activities.
Qualifications
- Construction experience or previous exposure to mechanical or property maintenance is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, or building automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and ohmmeters.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients or property managers.
- Ability to learn quickly on the job while following detailed instructions from senior technicians.
- Valid driver’s license (preferably <PERSON> driver) with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicle safely.
- EPA certification or willingness to obtain certification for refrigerant handling is highly desirable.
