Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Sample Coordinator to join our dynamic research and development team. In this vital role, you will oversee the collection, labeling, processing, and tracking of laboratory samples to ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity throughout the testing lifecycle. Duties
- Coordinate the receipt, labeling, and storage of biological, chemical, and environmental samples following established laboratory procedures.
- Maintain precise records of sample collection, processing steps, storage locations, and disposal activities using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other record-keeping tools.
- Ensure all sample handling complies with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice), FDA regulations, and safety protocols.
- Assist in preparing samples for various analyses including microbiology, histology, molecular biology techniques, and cell culture procedures.
- Monitor sample integrity through quality control measures and perform routine checks on laboratory instruments and storage conditions.
- Support laboratory research activities by providing timely sample processing and data collection to facilitate ongoing experiments.
- Collaborate with scientists and technicians to optimize sample management workflows while adhering to laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
- Proven experience working in an industrial or clinical laboratory setting with familiarity in GLP, CGMP, or FDA-regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of animal physiology, microbiology, histology, molecular biology techniques, and sterile laboratory procedures.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications for data entry, report generation, and communication.
- Excellent record keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail for laboratory documentation and compliance purposes.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols including chemical handling safety procedures and sterile techniques.
- Ability to operate various laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, and molecular biology equipment.
- Experience with research setting practices including data analysis skills, research & development processes, and scientific research methodologies.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar data management tools is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
