Position Overview:
The Market Caretaker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout La Plaza. This role focuses on cleaning bathrooms, common areas, and supporting overall facility cleanliness before and during business hours.
Responsibilities:
Daily Cleaning & Maintenance
- Empty trash cans throughout the market and replace liners.
- Vacuum and sweep floors each morning prior to opening.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms regularly (toilets, sinks, counters, floors).
- Restock bathroom supplies (toilet paper, trifold towels, soap, etc.).
- Wipe down commonly touched surfaces and maintain overall cleanliness in shared spaces.
Dining & Public Areas
- Support dining areas by clearing tables and wiping surfaces.
- Keep common areas clean, tidy, and welcoming.
General Duties
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to management.
- Follow cleaning schedules and checklists consistently.
- Work independently and stay productive throughout the shift.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be available for weekend shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
