POSITION SUMMARY
The CDL Driver — Flatbed is responsible for hauling iron panels, steel, block, brick, fabricated products, and other construction materials on flatbed trailers to and from job sites. This role requires expert load securement skills to ensure all cargo is strapped, chained, and tarped in compliance with DOT regulations and delivered safely and on time.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Haul masonry and iron materials and products, and other construction materials on flatbed trailers to and from job sites.
- Secure all loads using straps, chains, binders, edge protectors, and tarps in full compliance with DOT securement regulations.
- Verify load dimensions and weights to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal regulations and permits.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and communicate all necessary repairs to the mechanics’ shop.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and delivery tickets are accounted for before transporting a load.
- Coordinate with shop personnel and Project Managers on pickup schedules, load priorities, and delivery sequencing.
- Operate forklifts, piggybacks, or reach lifts to assist with loading and unloading as needed.
- Inspect flatbed deck, stake pockets, and tie-down points for wear or damage before each load.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
MUST HAVE — REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience required.
- Must have experience driving with manual transmission.
- Must know and conform to all DOT regulations.
- OSHA 10 card required.
- Pass the company’s Driver Approval Process required.
- Pass a mandatory employment drug test required.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Must have operational knowledge of smartphones and other mobile devices.
- Safely work in both hot and cold outside temperatures and on construction job sites.
- Must be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Must be able to operate a flatbed trailer and/or semi-tractor.
- Must be able to properly secure loads using straps, chains, binders, and tarps per DOT regulations.
- Must have ability to operate a Forklift/Piggyback.
NICE TO HAVE — PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience hauling construction materials, iron, or steel on flatbed trailers.
- Experience operating reach lifts or cranes for loading/unloading.
- Experience with GPS/telematics fleet management systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 per hour
