Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to an individual with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
- Engage clients in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Observe and document clients’ conditions through patient observation and monitoring, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and meal preparation aligned with dietary needs.
- Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility assistance.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and proper manual handling techniques to ensure resident safety at all times.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in home health care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of autism support or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus.
- Ability to perform patient monitoring tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient observation with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures is desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, and assist with mobility needs.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in DODD trainings are required by the Department of Developmental Disabilities
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays supports success in this role.
