University Preparatory Charter School for Young Men (UPREP) – Rochester, NY
Pay: $20.00–$25.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time (8-hour shift between 11:30 AM–8:00 PM)
Locations: Middle School & High School campuses (travel required)
UPREP is seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman / Maintenance Technician to support daily building operations across our two campuses. This role performs routine repairs, responds to facility needs, and ensures our learning environments remain safe, functional, and welcoming.
- General Repairs — Carpentry, patching, painting, replacing tiles, fixing doors/locks.

Plumbing & Electrical — Address minor leaks, clogs, fixture issues, light replacements, and breaker resets.

Preventative Maintenance — Inspect HVAC filters, windows, doors, and equipment.

Groundskeeping — Seasonal landscaping, trash removal, snow/ice clearing.

Event Setup — Move furniture and prepare spaces for school activities.

Cross-Campus Support — Complete work orders at both school locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work

Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks

Valid driver’s license
