Detail Mill Operator (Manual Mill)
Reports To: Shop Foreman
Workdays: Monday through Friday
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Work Hours: Day shift hours
The Mill Detail Operator is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through precision machining and detailed part finishing. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain tight tolerances in a fast-paced production environment.
Experience: 2-3 year experience preferred. Familiarity with Hurco Mill CNC machines.
Job Duties:
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual milling machines to perform precision machining tasks
- Bore and brush hone holes while maintaining tolerances within ±0.0005
- Use drill jigs to accurately drill holes in accordance with specifications
- Remove broken drills and taps from parts as needed
- Perform back spot facing operations
- Utilize manual mills and lathes to fabricate special tools as required
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must know how to read a drawing
- Must know how to use Measurement tools to check parts
- Shop lay-out requires the ability to run 1 machine
- Experience with feeds and speeds on hard metal
- Must be willing to work overtime
- Must be willing to work well with others
- Mechanical aptitude and basic math/computer skills
- Detail oriented
- GED / High school diploma required
- Ability to operate multiple machines
Preferred Skill/Attributes
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to use hand and or measurement tools
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
