Duties
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment while ensuring all team members adhere to food safety and sanitizing procedures.
- Oversee daily food production, ensuring timely preparation of high-quality dishes that meet menu specifications and customer expectations.
- Manage inventory control, monitor stock levels, order supplies, and minimize waste through effective cost control practices.
- Plan menus that cater to diverse dietary needs, incorporating fine dining standards and catering requirements for various events.
- Maintain strict compliance with food handling regulations, sanitation standards, and health codes to guarantee a safe kitchen environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless food service during peak hours and special events such as banquets or large gatherings.
- Implement shift management strategies, supervise kitchen operations during assigned hours, and support team development through training and mentorship.
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining, catering, and restaurant management.
- Proven supervising experience leading kitchen teams in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Skilled in food preparation, menu planning, and food production techniques across diverse cuisines.
- Expertise in inventory management, cost control, and managing kitchen supplies efficiently.
- Experience with banquet service, catering operations, and managing large-scale events.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills; capable of managing teams effectively while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
- Familiarity with restaurant experience including shift management, food service management, and hospitality principles.
- Ability to oversee food handling procedures ensuring compliance with health regulations; bartending skills are a plus for beverage service integration.
