Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of passenger vehicles to assess safety, emissions, and mechanical condition in accordance with state regulations.
- Verify vehicle compliance by examining mechanical systems, electrical components, tires, brakes, lights, and other critical parts.
- Perform automotive tire changes and assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks using hand tools and power tools.
- Identify mechanical issues and recommend necessary repairs or parts replacements; assist in auto estimating for repair costs.
- Document inspection results accurately, prepare detailed reports, and communicate findings clearly to customers or service teams.
- Support auto body repair assessments and vehicle restoration projects when needed.
- Ensure all inspections are completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of standard passenger car operation and automotive systems including electrical, mechanical, and body components.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, tire changes, and auto restoration.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment for inspections and repairs.
- Familiarity with automotive parts, accessories, auto estimating software, and vehicle inspection protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills to explain inspection results clearly and professionally to clients.
- Mechanical systems repair expertise combined with auto electrical systems understanding for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during inspections or repair tasks while adhering to safety guidelines.
