Immediate Opening – Experienced Plaintiff Litigation Paralegal
We are seeking an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support one associate attorney and manage an active litigation caseload. This is an in-office position and we are ready to hire immediately.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a paralegal who can step into an active desk and independently manage a caseload with minimal supervision beyond firm-specific procedures and software training.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload from filing suit through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, discovery, and correspondence
- Coordinate service of process and monitor deadlines
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Review discovery and follow up on outstanding responses
- Obtain and organize medical records, bills, and lien information
- Maintain accurate calendaring and proactive case management
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent Plaintiff Personal Injury litigation experience
- Ability to independently manage 30–45 active litigation files
- Thorough understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Florida E-Filing Portal
- Experience handling a case from inception through settlement or trial
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical Skills
- Experience with case management software (Aderant Total Office, Client Profiles, or similar systems preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel
- Strong computer and document management skills
Important
This position requires someone who is confident managing a caseload independently from day one. If you require extensive training, ongoing supervision, or step-by-step direction on routine litigation tasks, this position will not be the right fit.
Additional Requirements
- 3+ years of civil litigation and trial preparation experience
- Experience preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and mediation materials
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail
- Stable employment history with demonstrated longevity
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
