Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate a variety of youth activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, tutoring sessions, and outdoor recreation
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and positive interactions among children
- Assist with classroom management and support instructional activities tailored to different age groups and developmental needs
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and program coordinators regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Follow first aid protocols promptly in case of minor injuries or emergencies, including administering CPR or using AED when necessary
- Support special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate children with diverse learning styles or disabilities
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and AED operation is required; ongoing training provided if needed
- Experience in special education or childhood development enhances your ability to support diverse learners
- Strong child supervision skills with the ability to engage children in meaningful activities safely
- Outdoor work experience is a plus for supervising outdoor recreation or field trips
- Excellent team leadership skills to collaborate effectively with staff and volunteers in a fast-paced environment
